About the IFLA President's Meeting 2019

The IFLA President’s Meeting 2019 a high point of the IFLA year, providing a great opportunity for forward-looking debate among high-level participants around the Presidential theme: Libraries, Motors of Change. It features presentations by renowned speakers from around the world and stimulating discussions and reflections involving the library and information community.

This important event will be also be the occasion for the presentation of the Development and Access to Information Report 2019, the second of a series of reports that demonstrate the invaluable contribution that information access, particularly through libraries, makes to promoting more socially and economically inclusive societies.

The President’s Meeting will be preceded by a Ministers’ Forum, at which Ministers and Secretaries of Culture from the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region will discuss how libraries are delivering on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the role of access to information in achieving the United Nations 2030 Agenda and sustainable development in LAC.
